About the builder:

Brian R. Irwin spent my late twenties and early thirties as a finish carpenter in Corvallis Oregon.  A guitar player for about twenty years I decided to build my first guitar and after three months of toil to my amazement emerged what appeared to resemble a guitar.  Albeit a big heavy clunky thing, it played remarkably well and stayed in tune.  I play it to this day.  But for all its design and aesthetic flaws it proved to me that I could be a luthier!  Thus, with each successive guitar built the improvement curve remained steep and I decided to give it a go full time.  My goal is to build about eighteen instruments a year.  I build one at a time in my 10x10 shop.  They are all handmade one of a kind instruments.  Entirely finished via French polish method.  My hands are the only ones that ever touch the guitar before its new owner takes control of it.
